Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation—often called a “boob job”—isn’t only about adding volume. For most patients, it’s about proportion. Symmetry. Confidence in clothes. And a silhouette that finally matches how you see yourself.

At Vanity Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Istanbul, breast augmentation is treated as a precision procedure: a personalized plan built around your body, your tissue, your lifestyle, and the look you want—whether that’s a subtle, natural enhancement or a more projected, “wow” transformation.

This guide is designed to answer the questions people actually ask before surgery: Which implant shape should I choose? What’s the difference between under muscle and dual plane? Where will scars be? How painful is recovery? When can I fly home? And how do I make sure I’m choosing the right clinic in Turkey?

Let’s break it down—clearly, confidently, and with the details you need to plan smart.

breast-augmentation-01

What Breast Augmentation Is (and What It Can Change)

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of the breasts using implants—and in some cases, implants plus fat transfer.

Patients typically choose breast augmentation to:

  • Increase breast volume after weight loss or pregnancy
  • Improve symmetry when one breast is naturally smaller
  • Enhance cleavage and upper fullness
  • Create a more proportional figure (hips-waist-bust balance)
  • Restore confidence in swimwear, fitted clothing, and bras

Breast augmentation can also subtly change how your entire body looks in the mirror. When the bust is more proportionate, the waist can appear smaller, posture often improves, and clothing options widen.

What breast augmentation does not do:
It doesn’t lift very low-hanging breasts on its own. If you have significant sagging (ptosis), your surgeon may recommend a breast lift (mastopexy) with or without implants to achieve the shape you want. That’s not “more surgery for the sake of it”—it’s how you get a result that looks right and lasts.

Why Patients Choose Istanbul—and Why Vanity Hospital

Turkey has become one of the world’s leading destinations for aesthetic surgery, and Istanbul is the center of that medical ecosystem. But not all experiences are equal. The difference isn’t the city—it’s the system behind the surgery.

Vanity is positioned as a private surgical hospital pathway—not an agency. That matters because breast augmentation is not just one event (surgery day). It’s a complete process: planning, anesthesia safety, sterile operating conditions, clinical monitoring, and guided aftercare.

The Vanity difference in plain language

  • Hospital-based care: Surgery is performed in a structured medical environment.
  • Dedicated medical team: Surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff are integrated into the pathway.
  • International patient coordination: Multilingual support designed for UK/USA/Europe travel planning.
  • Confidence-building planning tools: 3D simulation to help you choose a size that fits your frame.
  • A “no surprises” approach: Clear aftercare steps and realistic expectations.

If you’re traveling for surgery, the “experience” isn’t about luxury—it’s about reducing uncertainty and making the process smooth, safe, and predictable.

Patient Reviews

Your Planning Session: Sizing, Proportions, and 3D Simulation

The goal: choose a size you’ll love long-term

If you’ve ever felt lost comparing “300cc vs 400cc” online—you’re not alone. Implant sizing isn’t just numbers. It’s shape, width, projection, your natural breast base, skin elasticity, and how your tissue will drape.

At Vanity, your plan is built around:

  • Your height, shoulder width, and ribcage/breast base width
  • Your existing breast tissue and skin stretch
  • Your desired look (natural slope vs upper fullness)
  • Your lifestyle (sports, weight training, posture demands)
  • Any asymmetry or special anatomy (tubular breasts, constricted lower pole, etc.)
Göğüs bedenini ölçen kadın

A great augmentation looks exciting on day one—but also looks right in five years. That’s why the “best” size is the one that fits your structure and won’t force the tissues to do something they can’t maintain.

3D simulation helps translate “I want fuller” into something measurable. It’s not a promise of an exact outcome, but it’s a powerful tool for aligning your expectations with reality—especially if you’re deciding between two sizes.

Implant Choices: Round vs Teardrop vs Natural-Behavior Options

At Vanity, the focus is on premium silicone implants because silicone gel generally offers a softer, more natural feel than older-style alternatives and tends to reduce visible rippling in many body types.

Round implants: the “fuller on top” look

Round implants are popular for patients who want:

  • More upper pole fullness
  • Stronger cleavage
  • A more “lifted” appearance

Round doesn’t automatically mean fake. With the right size and placement, round implants can look incredibly natural—especially in patients who already have some breast tissue.

Teardrop (anatomical) implants: natural slope by design

Teardrop implants are shaped to mimic a natural breast:

  • Subtle fullness at the top
  • More volume at the bottom
  • A softer, naturally sloped profile

They can be a great option for patients with very little natural tissue or those aiming for a gentle, understated enhancement.

Natural-behavior implants (ergonomic-style designs)

Some modern implants are designed to behave in a “dynamic” way—appearing rounder when you’re lying down and more naturally sloped when standing. This is appealing for patients who want softness and movement without sacrificing shape.

The best choice isn’t universal. It’s based on your anatomy and aesthetic target:

  • Want prominent cleavage? Round may be your match.
  • Want a subtle, elegant slope? Anatomical might be ideal.
  • Want natural movement? A dynamic-behavior option may fit your goals.

Motiva Preservé Breast Augmentation at Vanity Hospital

Motiva Preservé: A More Refined Way to Do Breast Augmentation

If you love the idea of breast augmentation but want the experience to feel more modern, more precise, and more gentle on the body, you’ll want to know about Motiva Preservé.

Motiva Preservé is an advanced breast augmentation approach designed to reduce tissue trauma and support a smoother overall patient experience. Instead of relying on a larger incision and heavier tissue disruption, Preservé focuses on a controlled, tissue-respecting technique and minimal implant handling—with the goal of delivering a beautiful result while keeping the surgical journey as refined as the outcome.

Why Patients Ask for Preservé

Patients choosing Motiva Preservé often want:

  • A natural-looking breast shape with soft movement
  • A technique designed around precision and tissue care
  • Discreet scarring and a clean surgical pathway
  • A premium implant experience paired with modern surgical standards

It’s especially appealing for patients who want “enhancement without drama”—the kind of breast augmentation that looks elevated, elegant, and effortless.

Breast Lift Surgery in Turkey

What Makes Preservé Different?

While every surgical plan is personalized, Preservé is generally associated with:

  • A meticulous, minimal-touch approach to implant handling
  • Careful pocket creation designed to be controlled and consistent
  • Modern incision planning for a clean, discreet finish
  • A focus on precision placement that supports symmetry and long-term aesthetics

This is not “one-size-fits-all.” Preservé is a premium pathway—your surgeon will confirm candidacy based on your anatomy, skin quality, breast base width, and desired size.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Motiva Preservé?

You may be an excellent candidate if you:

  • Want a natural breast augmentation with a refined silhouette
  • Prefer a technique designed around tissue preservation
  • Are choosing a Motiva implant and want the most modern surgical pathway
  • Are medically fit for surgery and can follow aftercare instructions

You may need a different approach if:

  • You require a breast lift (significant sagging)
  • You’re planning a very large size increase that demands a different strategy
  • Your anatomy requires alternative pocket control for the best result

Your consultation is where we match your desired look to the technique that will deliver it safely.

Implant Placement: Under Muscle, Over Muscle, and Dual Plane

Where the implant sits can change your result and your recovery. This is one of the most important decisions in augmentation planning.

Under the muscle (submuscular)

The implant is placed partially or fully beneath the pectoral muscle.

Often chosen because:

  • Smoother upper contour in thinner patients
  • Less visible implant edge in low-tissue bodies
  • Can be a strong option for long-term shape stability

Considerations:

  • Early recovery may feel tighter
  • Chest workouts can feel different initially
  • Some patients notice implant movement with strong muscle flexing

Over the muscle (subglandular)

The implant sits behind the breast tissue but above the muscle.

Often chosen because:

  • Faster early recovery for many patients
  • Less disruption to the chest muscle
  • Can create very nice cleavage in patients with enough natural tissue

Considerations:

  • In very thin patients, edges may be more visible
  • Rippling can be more noticeable depending on tissue thickness
  • Requires careful selection to avoid an obvious “implant outline”

Dual plane (a favorite for balance)

Dual plane combines advantages: the upper implant portion is under muscle for a smooth transition, while the lower portion sits under breast tissue for natural movement and fullness.

Why many surgeons like dual plane:

  • Natural upper contour
  • Great lower pole shape and projection
  • Often a strong option across many body types

Your surgeon’s job is to choose the placement that gives you the shape you want while protecting long-term aesthetics and tissue health.

Incisions and Scar Placement: What to Expect

Breast augmentation scars are real—but modern technique focuses on keeping them discreet.

Inframammary fold (under-breast crease)

This is one of the most common incisions because it offers excellent access and controlled implant placement. The scar typically sits in the natural breast crease.

Why patients choose it: predictable placement, hidden in the fold, strong control.

Periareolar (around the nipple)

Incision placed around the edge of the areola. This can be cosmetically discreet in some patients due to color transition.

Considerations: not ideal for every anatomy; surgeon selection matters.

Transaxillary (armpit)

Incision in the armpit to avoid scars on the breast itself. Less common and more anatomy-dependent.

Considerations: rarely used, technique-specific; implant placement control is different.

Your best option depends on your anatomy, chosen implant, and surgical plan. Scar quality also depends on genetics, aftercare, and sun protection.

Hybrid Breast Augmentation: Implants + Fat Transfer

For some patients, the most premium result comes from a hybrid approach: implants for structure and volume, plus fat transfer for softness and refined contour.

Hybrid augmentation may be ideal if you:

  • Are very slim with minimal natural tissue
  • Want fuller cleavage without visible implant edges
  • Have asymmetry that needs refined blending
  • Have tubular or constricted breast anatomy

Want the softest possible transition from chest to implant

How it works:

Fat is gently harvested (commonly via liposuction from areas like the abdomen, flanks, or thighs), purified, then strategically placed to soften edges and enhance contour.

Hybrid isn’t necessary for everyone, but for the right patient it can create a “high-fashion” finish—especially in the inner breast and upper transition zones.

The Vanity Pathway: Surgery Day, Hospital Stay, and Aftercare

A breast augmentation plan isn’t complete until it includes the aftercare structure. At Vanity, the pathway is designed around safety and predictable healing.

Typical flow

Day 0: arrival and pre-op testing
Day 1: consultation confirmation + surgery + hospital monitoring
Day 2: discharge and hotel recovery
Follow-up: scheduled controls and fit-to-fly evaluation

Breast augmentation is usually performed under general anesthesia with careful monitoring. You’ll wake up feeling tight across the chest—most patients describe pressure and soreness more than sharp pain.

The first days are about:

  • controlling swelling
  • supporting the implant position
  • minimizing strain on incisionsprotecting the result while tissues begin to heal

Recovery Timeline: Day-by-Day to Month-by-Month

Recovery is where great results are protected. Your job is to heal smart.

First 72 hours: the tight phase

Expect:

  • pressure/tightness across the chest
  • soreness with arm movement
  • swelling and a “high” implant position
  • reduced range of motion

This is normal. The muscles and tissues are adjusting.

Week 1: settle into your routine

Many patients can:

  • walk comfortably
  • do light tasks
  • return to desk-based work (if they avoid lifting and arm strain)

You’ll wear your surgical bra as instructed. This isn’t a suggestion—it’s part of shaping and stabilization.

Weeks 2–3: you feel more like yourself

  • swelling starts to improve
  • soreness decreases
  • mobility increases
  • sleep becomes easier (still often on your back, per instructions)

Weeks 4–6: gradual return to activity

Many patients can:

  • resume lower-body workouts (with approval)
  • increase daily activity
  • start feeling the breasts soften

Upper body training and heavy lifting are usually delayed longer to protect implant position and healing.

Months 2–6: the “drop and fluff” period

This is when most patients start loving the look:

  • implants sit lower and more naturally
  • breasts soften and move more naturally
  • cleavage looks more effortless
  • swelling reduces significantly

The exact timeline varies by implant size, placement, and tissue characteristics.

Essential Aftercare Rules (These Make or Break Results)

If you want the best-looking augmentation, treat aftercare like training for an event—consistency wins.

Wear the surgical bra as instructed

Commonly 24/7 for several weeks. It supports healing and stabilizes position.

Avoid lifting and upper-body strain early

No heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling. This protects internal healing and implant placement.

Sleep position matters

Sleeping on your back helps reduce displacement risk while tissues stabilize.

Heat and water rules

Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and very hot showers early on as instructed—heat can worsen swelling and affect healing.

Massage (only if your surgeon recommends it)

Modern cohesive gel implants often do not require routine massage. Follow your surgeon’s protocol—not internet advice.

Safety, Risks, and How We Reduce Them (Balanced and Realistic)

Breast augmentation is a common procedure, but it’s still surgery. You should understand the risks and how a quality hospital pathway reduces them.

Possible risks can include:

  • infection
  • delayed wound healing (due to smoking)
  • Temporary changes in nipple sensation
  • implant malposition (too high/low, too wide) need for revision surgery in select cases

Risk reduction is a system:

  • proper pre-op screening
  • careful sterile technique and surgical planning
  • appropriate implant selection for your tissue
  • clear post-op restrictions and follow-ups
  • patient compliance with aftercare

No clinic should promise “risk-free” surgery. A trustworthy clinic explains risks calmly and clearly, and shows you how they manage them.

Cost of Breast Augmentation in Turkey: What Affects Your Quote?

Starting Price: Breast Augmentation with Implants 3000€

Your final quote can vary depending on factors like implant type, implant size, placement choice (over/under/dual plane), and whether your anatomy requires additional techniques (for example, significant asymmetry correction or a hybrid fat transfer approach). The best pricing is always personalized after your medical review and surgical plan.

Breast Augmentation Cost Comparison by Country

Region / CountryTypical Breast Augmentation
Turkey (Vanity)€3,000 (starting price)
Europe €6.000–€8,000+
UK£5,500–£8,500+
USA$7,000–$12,000+

What’s Included in the €3,000 Package

Your starting price is built to cover the essentials of a safe, hospital-based augmentation—not “bare minimum surgery.”

Included in your package:

  • Surgery performed by our surgical team
  • General anesthesia
  • Premium silicone implants
  • Surgical bra for post-op support
  • Bloodwork prior to surgery
  • 3D Crisalix VR simulation prior to surgery (to support size planning and expectation alignment)
  • 1 night hospital stay after surgery with clinical monitoring
  • Translator support
  • Post-op support and guided aftercare communication
  • Aftercare control appointments (scheduled follow-ups during your stay & via videocall when you get back home)
  • Complication insurance (added peace of mind for international patients)
  • 24H nurse assistance at your hotel

This is designed so your experience feels medically complete—without hidden “extras” that suddenly appear after you arrive.

Optional Add-Ons (Available on Request)

If you want a fully coordinated travel experience, Vanity can also arrange add-ons to make your trip smoother and more comfortable:

Optional add-ons include:

  • Flights (assistance with coordination)
  • Hotel stay (5 nights)
  • VIP transfers (airport ↔ hotel ↔ hospital)

These add-ons are ideal if you want everything organized in one pathway—especially if you’re traveling from the UK, USA, or Europe and prefer a streamlined schedule.

Quick Note on Value (Not Just Price)

When comparing breast augmentation costs in Turkey, it’s smart to compare packages, not just headline numbers. A price that looks lower can sometimes exclude essentials like implants, anesthesia, aftercare, or hospital monitoring. At Vanity, the pricing is built around a complete surgical pathway—so your plan is clear from the start.

Istanbul as a Recovery Base (Keep It Practical)

For international patients, Istanbul can be a comfortable recovery base because you have access to:

  • high-standard hotels and room service
  • easy transportation options
  • amenities for rest and light walking
  • multilingual support for daily needs

That said, this is not a holiday week. The goal is calm rest, structured follow-ups, and safe return travel when cleared.

Next Step: Ask the Doctor / Get a Quote (Soft CTA)

If you’re considering breast augmentation in Turkey, the best first step is a surgeon-led plan based on your body—not a guess based on photos online.

Ask the Doctor for:

  • a personalized implant recommendation
  • placement and incision guidance
  • a clear recovery plan
  • a realistic understanding of what your result can look like

When you feel informed, you’ll feel confident—and confidence is the real luxury.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing varies by implant type, technique, and whether you add a lift or fat transfer. A personalized quote is the most accurate way to plan.

They can look extremely natural when the implant size, width, and placement match your anatomy and tissue.

Round often delivers more upper fullness and cleavage. Teardrop is designed for a natural slope. The right choice depends on your goals and anatomy.

Under muscle may offer a smoother upper contour in thinner patients. Over muscle can have faster early recovery in those with enough tissue. Dual plane often blends both advantages.

Many patients return to desk-based work within 1–2 weeks, but full activity restrictions often last 6 weeks or longer. Final settling continues for months.

Typically 5 days later. Travel timing depends on your surgeon’s clearance and your recovery progress. Many international pathways plan a short monitored stay before flying.

Temporary numbness can happen and often improves.

Many patients can breastfeed after implants, especially with certain incision and placement choices, but it’s not guaranteed for every individual.

No. Modern implants are designed for long-term use, but they are not lifetime devices. Some patients keep them for many years; others replace them sooner due to preference or changes.

It’s when scar tissue around the implant tightens and can change shape or feel.

It’s the period when implants settle into a more natural position and the breasts soften—often over several months.

Many patients combine with procedures like liposuction or a tummy tuck, but suitability depends on health, operative time, and recovery capacity.

Breast Augmentation Keyfacts & FAQs

How long is breast augmentation recovery?

Many people return to light daily activities within a few days and desk work in 5–10 days, depending on soreness and implant placement. Chest tightness and swelling are most noticeable in the first 1–2 weeks and typically ease over 4–6 weeks. If implants are placed under the muscle, early discomfort and activity restrictions may last longer than over-the-muscle placement. Final “settling” (softening and position changes) often continues for 2–6 months.

Key facts

  • Recovery: desk work ~5–10 days; avoid heavy lifting/upper-body workouts ~4–6 weeks; settling 2–6 months
  • Results duration: implants aren’t lifetime devices; results can last many years but may change with aging, pregnancy, weight shifts, and implant longevity

When can I sleep normally and go back to the gym after breast augmentation?

Most surgeons recommend sleeping on your back with your upper body slightly elevated for the first 1–2 weeks to reduce swelling and avoid pressure on healing tissues. Side sleeping is often allowed after a few weeks once tenderness improves, while stomach sleeping may need 6+ weeks (or longer) depending on comfort and surgeon guidance. Walking is encouraged early, but upper-body training typically pauses for 4–6 weeks to protect the implant pocket and incision healing. Lower-body workouts may return sooner if they don’t spike chest strain or heart rate excessively.

Key facts

  • Recovery: back-sleeping ~1–2 weeks; side sleeping often after a few weeks; upper-body training usually 4–6 weeks
  • Results duration: long-term shape depends on skin, implant type/position, and life events; many patients enjoy stable results for years

How long do breast augmentation results last?

Breast augmentation can look great for many years, but results are not “permanent” in the sense that bodies change and implants can eventually require revision. Over time, natural aging, gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight fluctuations can affect breast position and softness. Implants themselves are not considered lifetime devices, so some patients choose replacement or revision later due to aesthetic changes, implant aging, or personal preference. Routine follow-up and awareness of changes help you plan proactively rather than reactively.

Key facts

  • Recovery: initial swelling improves in weeks; final settling often 2–6 months
  • Results duration: often many years; future revision may be desired/needed depending on anatomy, lifestyle, and implant longevity

When will my breast implants “drop and fluff” (settle)?

Early on, breasts can look higher, firmer, and tighter because swelling and muscle tension (especially with under-muscle placement) temporarily hold implants up. As tissues relax, implants tend to settle into a more natural position over 6–12 weeks, with continued softening possible up to 6 months. The pace varies with implant size, pocket technique, your skin elasticity, and whether the implant is above or below the muscle. Your surgeon may recommend a support bra (and sometimes specific massage instructions) depending on your case.

Key facts

  • Recovery: noticeable settling often by 6–12 weeks; continued softening up to ~6 months
  • Results duration: once settled, results can remain stable for years, with gradual changes possible from aging and life events
