ما هي العملية
A brow lift changes where your eyebrows sit and the shape of the arch they make. The brow descends with age and the outer third goes first, so the tail sinks toward the lid and the eye starts to read as hooded. Surgery puts it back — usually by a few millimetres, which is a great deal more on a face than it sounds on paper.
It suits people who are told they look tired or cross when they are neither, and who find that the eyebrow, not the eyelid, is the thing that has moved. There is a quick test for it: lift the brow with two fingers in the mirror. If that is the face you miss, this is the operation. If skin still hangs over the lash line with the brow held up, you are looking at upper eyelid surgery as well.
التقنيات التي نستخدمها

Several short incisions inside the hairline, with a small camera guiding the release from underneath. It moves the whole brow evenly and leaves almost nothing to see, which is why it is the default for mild-to-moderate descent.

Two incisions at the temples raise the outer third and leave the centre where it is. When the complaint is a heavy tail sitting on the lid — and it usually is — this does the job with the least surgery.

A longer incision across the top of the scalp gives the surgeon full access and the most control over final brow height. It buys precision at the cost of a longer scar and a slower recovery, so we reserve it for heavy descent.

A strip of skin is taken from immediately above the brow hairs and the brow is lifted straight up. It gives millimetre control and fixes marked asymmetry, at the price of a scar on the face rather than in the hair. Chosen when precision matters more than concealment.
How the operation unfolds
Analysis decides the technique
The surgeon maps brow position, asymmetry, forehead height, and hairline — and separates brow descent from excess eyelid skin, because they mimic each other. This is what decides which lift you get, and whether the upper lid is done with it; treating the wrong structure under-corrects the hooding.
Marking, done sitting up
The new brow height is drawn with you upright, before anaesthesia — a brow lies differently once you are flat, and marking it lying down builds an error into the plan. General anaesthesia follows.
Incisions placed by technique
Endoscopic uses several short cuts hidden in the hair, temporal two at the temples, direct a line just above the brow hairs. Placement is chosen here because it fixes where the scar will live for good.
Release, then fixation
The brow is freed from the tissue anchoring it down — the release is what lets it move. It is then secured at the planned height; the fixation is what makes the result hold rather than drift back within months.
Closure and discharge
Incisions are closed with the tension spread away from the wound edge, which is what a fine scar depends on. A light dressing goes on, and most patients go home the same day with follow-ups already booked.
التعافي أسبوعاً بأسبوع
- Day 1
A snug dressing across the forehead, tightness, and a dull headache. The brows will look far too high today — that is swelling holding them up, and it is not your result. Rest with your head raised and keep cold compresses on the cheekbones rather than on the brow itself.
- Week 1
Bruising drops into the upper lids and sits there a few days before it fades. Sutures or clips come out around day 7 to 10. The brow is still riding above where it will end up, so this is not the week to judge the shape.
- Week 2
Most of the bruising has gone and desk work is comfortable. Brow makeup goes back on once the incisions have closed. The scalp itches, which is sensation returning rather than anything wrong.
- Week 6
Strenuous exercise resumes. The brow has dropped into roughly its final position and the arch is readable at last — this is the first honest look at the shape you will keep.
- Month 6
The height has settled and small early asymmetries have usually evened out. Incisions in the hair are hard to find. The brow reads as yours, a few millimetres up, which is the whole point.
كيف تستعد
- Stop blood thinners, aspirin, and certain supplements — fish oil and vitamin E — about 14 days before surgery, with your surgeon's guidance.
- Avoid smoking and nicotine for at least 4 weeks before and after surgery, to protect healing.
- Leave your brows alone for two weeks beforehand — no tinting, waxing, threading, or fresh microblading — so the surgeon plans against your natural brow line.
- Wash your hair the morning of surgery and skip styling products, makeup, and jewellery.
- Arrange help for the first 24 to 48 hours, and set up a recovery space with extra pillows for head elevation.
المخاطر
كل عملية جراحية تنطوي على مخاطر. نُسمّيها بوضوح لتتمكن من طرح الأسئلة الصحيحة.
- Brow asymmetry — one side settling a little higher than the other
- Over-elevation and a startled look, or too little lift to be worth it
- An arch that reads differently from the one you had
- Numbness or itching along the scalp, usually temporary
- Hair thinning or a visible scar at the incision line
- Standard surgical risks — bleeding, infection, a reaction to anaesthesia

ماذا تتوقع في تركيا
A brow lift in Istanbul is a day case built around one quiet week. The preparation steps above apply unchanged — what differs is that we plan the brow with you before you get on a plane, and stay with you for twelve months after you go home.
Before you fly
You speak with the surgeon before booking anything. Send photographs taken straight on with a relaxed face, and older ones if you have them — the brow you used to have is the most useful target we can be given. That conversation also settles whether the brow alone is the problem, or whether the upper lid needs addressing with it. Most Western nationals enter Turkey visa-free or on an e-visa for a stay that covers the recovery window comfortably; confirm the rule for your passport.
At the clinic
Surgery is done under general anaesthesia in our own licensed theatres, usually as a day case, with an English-speaking coordinator alongside you throughout. The brow is marked with you sitting upright before anaesthesia, because a brow lies differently once you are lying down. Accreditation is a facility-level signal of patient-safety standards — it does not certify a surgeon, so you are welcome to verify the operating surgeon's credentials with us directly.
Recovery in Istanbul
Plan on 7 days in the city, with 6 hotel nights. The first after surgery you rest and apply cold compress. On your control appointment we check how the brow is sitting and how the scalp is healing. Your brows will still be too high at that visit, and we will say so rather than let you fly home worrying about it.
Heading home
Facial-surgery guidance favours waiting 7 days before flying, so sutures are out and swelling has eased before cabin pressure gets involved. Written flight clearance comes at your final in-clinic check. We stay reachable for twelve months, which matters here — the shape is not final until about month six, and that is well after you have gone home.

الأسئلة الشائعة
How much higher will my brows actually sit?
Usually somewhere between three and six millimetres, and rarely more. It sounds like nothing written down, but the brow is the most expressive line on the face and small moves there are legible. Anyone promising a dramatic number is describing the over-lifted look you came here to avoid.
Will I look surprised afterwards?
Not if the plan is conservative. The startled look comes from lifting the centre of the brow too far, or from repeated revisions stacking on each other. We plan to your original brow position — there are usually old photographs, and they are the best brief we can get.
Can I lift only the outer half?
Yes, and it is often the right answer. The tail of the brow descends first and furthest, so a temporal lift through two small incisions at the temples fixes what actually bothers you without touching the centre. It is a smaller operation with a quicker recovery.
Should I have a brow lift or just Botox?
A neuromodulator lifts the tail of the brow a little by relaxing the muscle pulling it down, and in your thirties and early forties that is often all it takes. Surgery becomes the sensible option once the brow has genuinely descended, or once injections stop moving it as far as they used to.
Brow lift or upper eyelid surgery?
They fix different things that look alike. A heavy brow pushes lid skin down and mimics hooding, so removing lid skin from a patient whose real problem is the brow can pull the brow lower still. We assess both and often do both, but which one leads is decided on your anatomy, not on which name you arrived with.
What happens to my microblading or brow tattoo?
It moves with the brow, which is worth thinking about — pigment placed to compensate for a low brow can sit oddly once the brow is where it should be. Leave a few months after surgery before any retouching, and take a photograph of the current shape to your artist afterwards.
How long do I really need off work?
Ten to fourteen days for most people, depending on how visible your job is and how fast your bruising clears. Desk work from home often comes sooner, though the brows sit high early on and you may not want to be on camera for it.
What does travelling to Istanbul for a brow lift involve?
You speak with the surgeon before you travel, then plan roughly 7 days in Istanbul — enough for surgery, suture removal, and clinic checks. Written flight clearance comes at the final visit, and care continues for twelve months after you fly home
Does my hairline or forehead height change which lift I can have?
They decide where the incisions can hide. Endoscopic and temporal lifts place their scars inside the hair, which needs enough hair density to conceal them, so thinning or a receding hairline weakens that advantage. A tall forehead is the other constraint — lifting from behind the hairline raises it further — which is why a technique working closer to the brow sometimes suits better.
Is a brow lift painful?
Less than most people expect, and it is a different sensation from pain — tightness across the forehead and a dull headache, at their most noticeable through the first two or three days while the swelling is heaviest. The painkillers you are sent home with cover that comfortably, and most people stop needing them within a few days. The itching that follows along the scalp in the second week is sensation returning, not something going wrong.
How long does a brow lift last?
The lift itself does not wear off — what you gain is a lasting head start. Ageing carries on around it, though, so the brow will drift again at its own pace, set by your genetics, skin quality, and lifestyle. Most people keep a visible benefit for many years.
Will it soften my forehead lines?
Often, yes. A low brow makes the forehead muscle work constantly to hold it up, and repositioning the brow takes that effort away — so horizontal forehead lines and the "11" lines between the brows tend to soften. It is a repositioning operation rather than a wrinkle treatment, so if lines are your main concern, a neuromodulator is the more direct answer.
Am I a good candidate?
Most candidates have a brow that has descended with age or after weight loss, or one that has always sat low — often a family trait. Beyond the brow itself, you should be in good general health and expecting a few millimetres of change rather than a new face. The two-finger test in the mirror settles most of the rest.
How should I care for the scars?
Keep them out of the sun for the first year — a hat or high-SPF sunscreen once the incisions have closed — and stay off nicotine while they heal. Silicone-based scar products help, but start them only once your surgeon clears you. Scars look their worst early and fade steadily from there.
What changes the price?
Mostly the technique — a temporal lift is a smaller operation than an endoscopic or coronal one — and whether upper eyelid surgery is combined with it. Anaesthesia and operative time follow from those choices. The €2,000–4,500 range covers all of it; your fixed quote comes after the surgeon reviews your photographs.
