Breasts are the most important sexual organ in a female body. The beauty of breasts plays an important role for women to feel beautiful and to be self-confident. The development of breasts starts before adolescence and continues until fertility age. Birth, breast-feeding and aging cause changes in the sizes of breasts. Sometimes, due to genetic or hormonal reasons, breasts might become huge compared to the body starting with the adolescence.
What Are The Complaints Of People Who Have Big Breasts?
Big breasts get droopy due to gravity and nipples go outward. Breasts’ weight applies a force to the neck and back which pulls them down. Imagine that you have to live with something heavy hanging down from your neck. The back will bend down over time and the neck will become flat. Marks of bra straps will become hollow and create grooves. Additionally, it is hard to keep big breasts hygienic. Rash, dermatitis, and fungal infections are observed frequently. The clothing never looks good enough, they always have to wear baggy clothes and huge bras, which ultimately may make women unhappy.

Is Sensation Loss Experienced After The Surgery?

Sensation loss may be experienced lasting up to 1 year if the patient has huge floppy breasts. This operation does not cause permanent sensation loss.
Is The Operated Breast Shape Changed After Giving Birth? Can They Breast-feed?
After breast reduction, we do not recommend pregnancy for 1 year in which the recovery process continues. There will not be a big change in in breast shape if you control your weight gain during pregnancy and keep your skin moistened. Breast-feeding function will decline depending on the reduction of milk producing lactiferous tissues. However, the remaining tissues function perfectly and fill the gap.
Does Breast Reduction Prevent Or Have An Impact On Breast Cancer?
Breast reduction does not cause breast cancer, neither does it increase the risk. In fact, it reduces the amount of potential tissues in which cancer cells can develop. However, it is not completely protective. Patients should follow-up after the surgery (mammography, breast ultrasound).
How Are The Preoperative Process And Surgery Process?
Patients should not take aspirin or blood diluents, drink herbal teas a week before the surgery, they should stop consuming alcohol 24-48 hours before the surgery. They should stop smoking or reduce it to 5 cigarettes a day. All necessary measurements are taken during the preoperative examination. We assess the patient’s expectations and clearly indicate our response to those expectations. In the morning of the surgery, we will perform drawings depending on the surgery method. The surgery is performed as a general anesthesia procedure. It lasts about 2.5 hours.
How Is The Post-surgical Process?
Post- Breast reduction surgery is not painful. The pain can easily be taken under control via painkillers injected into blood vessels or muscles. After the 2nd day, you may feel uncomfortable moving. We use small drainage tubes which prevent the blood accumulate within tissues. Drainage tubes are removed within 24-48 hours. Patients stay at the hospital 48 hours at most. After the patient leaves hospital, follow-up and medical dressings are performed on 2nd and 7th days. Patients wear sports bra for 6 weeks after the operation. Breasts take their final shape approximately within 2 months.
