Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy Explained

The procedure involves blood extracted from the patient, the way it is extracted for laboratory examinations (cholesterol determination, etc). It is then placed in a centrifuge machine to separate the platelet rich serum. With the risks that come along surgery (not to mention cost), Liposuction is hardly an option for some. Although it is the fastest way to lose the bulge, the possible complications scare the wits out of potential patients. Over the years, non-invasive slimming procedures have been crafted to be a feasible alternative for  liposuction. Currently, Lipo Cavitation is one of these body sculpting technologies that is widely offered in clinics and medical spas.

Lipo Cavitation employs ultrasound to break down stubborn fats located in the abdomen, arms, thighs, buttocks and other problem areas. Avoid eating oily food and drinking alcohol for the next 3 days to avoid overworking your liver.

Cleaning your makeup brushes on a regular basis is important to keep them in the best condition. Over time, makeup brushes in make up sets tend to build up a lot of nasty residue, from hair to dead skin and bacteria. Brushes also become less effective for use if they get clogged up, and can mean that you’re not getting the best value out of them. In this way, getting into a good cleaning routine for your brushes is necessary if you want to look your best, and avoid irritating your skin or causing an infection. There are many ways to do this, all of which are straightforward and require only a small amount of equipment.

Getting the Right Equipment

To clean your makeup brushes, you should have a good supply of white soap for basic washing. Baby shampoo also works as a mild cleaner for bristles, as does hair conditioner for adding softness. Some liquid disinfectant is worth having for cleaning brush handles. Olive oil is similarly effective at getting out stubborn bits and pieces from brush heads. Specific brush cleaners can be bought, which can be used as part of a daily cleaning routine. As well as these items, it’s worth having some rubber gloves to avoid making a mess on your hands, and an old jam jar or mug for storing brushes.

Steps To Cleaning 

• The first step in cleaning your brushes is to divide them into larger blushes and foundation brushes, and narrower eyeliner and lipliner brushes. Smaller brushes won’t require as heavy duty cleaning.
• Run brushes under lukewarm water, making sure to avoid the metal part of a brush. If water gets inside a brush, it will cause rusting over time. You now have a few different options.
• For a basic clean, use white soap lathered up over brush bristles. The soap can then be rinsed off in lukewarm water. Alternatively, use baby shampoo squeezed onto a paper towel, and blot the brush until it’s fully covered. Rub the shampoo gently into fine brushes, and rinse off with water.
• For more difficult to remove grime on brushes, use olive oil on a brush, rubbing it thoroughly into the bristles and then rinsing. Baby shampoo also works well here to thoroughly lather up brushes.

Frequency

Brushes should be cleaned in this way about once a week. However, if you want to cut down on cleaning time, invest in a spray on brush cleaner. This can be sprayed onto brushes as a mild disinfectant and cleaner, and can be blotted on a wipe. Disinfectant wipes can similarly be used to quickly remove build ups on a brush after use. You can also use the same process to clean brush handles.

Final Tip

Once rinsed, place brushes flat down on a towel to air dry. Reshape brush heads after use to prevent them from splitting. Hanging bristles off the edge of a towel will help them to dry quicker. Try to avoid using hair dryers, as these can lead to bristles splitting, or the head of a brush losing its shape.

Until now, playing their blockbuster hits “One More Chance” and “Close To You” at home remains one of my guilty pleasures. Watching the trailer of their latest movie tells us that they have progressed as actors and have taken on more complex roles. Indeed, with the emotionally-loaded plot of “The Mistress,” don’t expect to come home giddily smiling the way you fell in love with Basha and Popoy in “One More Chance.”

It was a bit uncomfortable to watch Bea Alonzo play mistress to Ronaldo Valdez’ character. I can’t help but associate it  with their Betty La Fea TV series where the latter was a respectable, protective father to Betty (Bea). As an actress, Bea admitted to finding her scenes with the veteran actor most challenging.

“The Mistress” explores the other side of the coin. It doesn’t glorify adultery, but depicts the mistress in a more humane light. A human flawed in her judgment, bound to ultimately suffer the consequences of her actions. You will neither hate Sari nor wanna be her. Sari (Bea Alonzo) as the mistress, is not the stereotypical skimpily clad, she-devil incarnate, social-climbing bitch. On the contrary, Sari is a goody two shoes, decent-looking, soft-spoken woman in her mid-twenties devoted to her family, albeit  burdened by the secret life she leads as a kept woman. Bea Alonzo’s under-acting in this movie reminds me of Jaclyn Jose’s thespian trademark, but not lazy enough to graduate under Bella Swan’s lethargic acting school. The radiant and hardworking woman being weighed down by her sinful undertakings is executed perfectly by Bea’s calm but troubled take on the role. She has come a long way as an actress. Bea Alonzo has arrived.

Upon entering the theatre, I could hear people coming out of it, saying they should have brought tissues. I initially couldn’t relate to their sentiments as I was having fun with the intermittent injection of humor despite the seriousness of the theme. Thanks to the little kid named Mamon (Clarence Delgado) and K Brosas who mostly provided the comic relief. However John Lloyd Cruz is John Lloyd Cruz. This man knows the way to your tear ducts without you realizing it. I have long been amazed with his relatable, realistic and poignant acting. The scene with Ronaldo Valdez was epic. So yes, even if you’re not a mistress and cannot relate to the role, bring lots of tissues. Blame that on John Lloyd.

The presence of Anita Linda, Ronaldo Valdez and Hilda Koronel spelled powerhouse. Although there were scenes where Hilda went too theatrical in acting out her heartbroken, alcoholic of a wife role, it was forgivable.

“Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol still lingers in my head. This leads us wondering, what made Star Cinema use foreign music on a movie that could possibly redefine local films? I don’t know, perhaps there was no Jed Madela song  that could capture the melancholia in JD and Sari’s love story as much as “Chasing Cars” could.

The moviegoers could barely wipe off their tears when the end credits started rolling.It was a heavy feeling to carry home. “Di dahil gusto mo, makukuha mo,” (not everything you want will be yours) could very well tell the gist of the story.I think this was what pierced through me- the painful realization that there are things that will never be, no matter how desired zealously enough. It sure stings. Sometimes, the only way to have it is to close your eyes and dream about it. Sigh.

Rainy season is already reigning. Don’t be sad because even if it’s raining, you can still go out and do some stuff to enjoy. In this article, we will be exploring some areas where you can enjoy even if it’s raining cats and dogs.

Here are some ideas on where and what to do when it’s raining:

There is one phrase that says, “If it suddenly rains, go and find some shelter. But if you can’t find any shelter, just enjoy the rain.” This phrase gives a positive view through things in life, and we can adopt it especially with this kind of weather.

There are lots of things you can enjoy even if it’s raining outside. Sometimes, rain can bring more feel to a place’s ambience. For a person who loves hanging out in the rain, try to spend the wet weather through your garden. It doesn’t always mean that you need to get out of the house. Feel its presence by enjoying the drops of water on those leaves while drinking a cup of tea or coffee. You can also spend your time beside the fireplace hugging yourself with a thick warm coat while holding a warm hot chocolate drink and marshmallows, or spend the rain in the pool. It’s more enjoyable to take a dip in the water when it’s raining. It can prevent you from getting sun burns.

Also try cave snorkeling or diving while it’s raining. It’s kind of a creepy adventure; you will be able to hear the rain drops in the water. It adds deep sounds of echoes, but it’s somehow challenging, especially, for those who love the rush of adrenaline.

If ever you really want to go outside and have some adventure, some rainforest and mountains allow rain trekking. You just have to take precautions and some emergency tools like flashlights, rainproof tents, waterproof matches, extra clothes, canned goods and some tarps to have a bigger space to put some things while on camp.

Love the rain like how the earth receives its kiss. If ever you own a camera with a waterproof case, it would be better if you go outside and look for a beautiful spot like a green field with someone special and take some pictures. Enjoy capturing every moment in the rain. As a bonus, the rain will also add up a beautiful effect in your images, especially when you do this at night with all the lights flashing and dancing with the rain. You may also try going to a cozy place like some acoustic bars with a great view of outside overlooking scene. Rain will surely add beauty with the said ambience. You can enjoy this yourself or with friends.

Go back in time and act like a kid. Play around your garden or in the streets without any rain gears. Let rain pour on you. Enjoy every drop and feel free. Being out of your comfort zone will definitely give you a priceless feeling.

Lately, the camera has been my favorite tool. To make a beautiful photo, I needed to ensure that the subject would just be as stunning. Although I have worked with ethereal creatures called models in the past, I chose a “real girl” instead for my practice shoot.

The Makeover Model

A single mother to 2 daughters, Jen is not the type to spend long hours in the mirror primping herself up. Her hours are devoted to making a living for her kids, that she hardly has time for other things, more so to check if her hair falls into place. I figured, why not make an unconventional beauty a subject for my headshots portfolio? With the right light, angles, pose, and makeup, the goddess within was sure to come out.

The problem with doing  makeover shoots like this one is,instead of highlighting my photography skills, the focus was on how I did the makeup. Thing is, it wasn’t my usual professional makeup routine. I skipped a lot of steps just so I could get on with the pictorial. After all, I wasn’t building a makeup portfolio but was polishing up on photography. It was an imperfect makeup on a perfect day for a shoot.

Makeup may not be permanent, but having photos to immortalize a moment in Jen’s life reminding her of the beauty that abounds in this world, is a fabulous route to boost the confidence every girl needs.
